The Beautiful Island of Crete

Having spent years hand picking some of the best resorts for families in Europe, I can quite honestly say that Crete has to be one of my all-time favourite destinations. Not just the quality of the resorts we have chosen to feature, from the cool and trendy Domes of Elounda to the traditional Relais & Chateau Elounda Mare, it’s also the people, the beaches, the cleanliness and of course their famous Cretan honey and delicious olives!

One taxi driver explained to me the reason Crete hadn’t been hit so harshly during the Greek economic crash was because of their exports in these products and many more. Tourism is clearly important and they certainly know how to look after their visitors, however, cultivating their indigenous resources is leading the way in helping this island thrive and prosper.
